Biofficina Toscana Active Conditioner Review

There are women who are obsessed with hair and hair products. They do different hairstyles, wear difficult braids and buns and if you ask them about styling and hair care products, they will answer you with a plethora of little tipps, tricks and products. I love reading these blogs and recommendations although I have short hair and basically only need a shampoo, conditioner and some leave-in product. However, when it comes to these three  products, I am just a s picky as the hair-queens.

One of my firm favourites is the Active Conditioner by the Italian brand Biofficina Toscana. The brand offers a range of high-quality products and a majority of the natural ingredients comes from Tuscany.

The reviews and ratings of Biofficina Toscana products on Ecco Verde speak for themselves and I am probably just one of many who continue to rebuy this conditioner.

The full list of ingredients is:

Aqua, Behenamidopropyl dimethylamine, Cetyl alcohol, Olea europaea fruit oil, Sorbitol, Phaseolus vulgaris extract, Malva sylvestris extract, Hypericum perforatum extract, Chamomilla recutita extract, Urtica dioica extract, Citrus medica limonum peel oil, Salvia sclarea oil, Glycerin, Xanthan gum, Limonene, Linalool, Sodium dehydroacetate, Sodium benzoate, Benzyl alcohol.

The Active Conditioner is described as adding volume, nourishing the hair and making it feel silky and soft. It is said to be best for damaged hair although I believe it can be used by people with different hair structure and texture. I have fairly dry, curly hair but I also read reviews of people with super straight or dyed hair.

When opening the tube, the first thing I notice is the unusual herbal scent of sage. I say “unusual” because Biofficina Toscana often relies on fruity scents. Although I usually like care products with natural fruity or slightly floral-powdery scents, this herbal fragrance fits the brand and product very well and I enjoy it a lot. The conditioner is cream-white and an amount the size of a walnut is enough for my short hair. The suggested use is to leave on the conditioner after shampooing for a few minutes. I usually use the time for washing my face and body and after 2-5 minutes I rinse thoroughly so that there is no product left.

Back in the days when I had still a long mane of curly hair, I could only laugh about most conditioner descriptions. Most of them promised that they will make your hair easy to comb but truth be told, there were only a handful of conditioners that really lived up to this promise. The Active Conditioner was one of them, suddenly it was easy to get through my tangled hair and even now with short hair, I am still noticing its effect.

My hair feels more nourished after using the Active Conditioner, it is less dry and less straw-like. Added bonus: it is also left with a nice shine.

With 11,89 EUR for 200ml, the Active Conditioner can not be considered a bargain but I say it is worth every penny. Most oils and extracts are organic and the effect is outstanding.

Which one is your favourite hair conditioner? Do you know any of the Biofficina Toscana products?
